RIGHT ON RED4
Where The Left Takes A Turn For The Worse

Morning, all. I've been mulling over the idea of starting out each day's blogging with some daily features, not necessarily of a political nature. Let's give it a whirl.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Civilization is a race between education and catastrophe". - H.G. Wells

WORD OF THE DAY: samizdat - a system of clandestine publication of banned literature in the USSR.

SONG OF THE DAY: "The Rat" by The Walkmen. Three minutes of bitterness that both references and outruns Dylan's masterpiece of contempt, "Positively 4th Street". The intensity of this track never lets up. Featured in The Manchurian Candidate soundtrack, but don't let that deter you. Go listen to it for free here.

PERSON OF THE DAY: Gene Simmons of Kiss, for being a much-needed contrast to the world of pacifist celebrities.

BLOG OF THE DAY: Baghdad Girl - evidence that life goes on in Iraq, even for 13 year old girls.

WEIRD NEWS OF THE DAY: New Dutch law bans toe-licking

So what do you think? Is this worth doing every day? Let me know.
